Performance

How it started

2017

I began my journey in music in my senior year of high school, when I was admitted to my school’s most advanced chamber choir on an impulse. At the time, musicianship was so unlike anything I had attempted before- I was not raised as a musician nor did I have access to an instrument or lessons. I simply loved learning everything I could about music and subsequently became dedicated to pursuing it.

Studying Music

2018 - 2022

As I moved into college, it was clear that music would be my path forward. I selected curriculum and practiced constantly, encompassing music theory, songwriting, vocal technique and jazz instruction into my efforts. I embraced every lesson or rehearsal that my education provided me, and every performance it led to. Such performances included various ensemble and solo work, which ultimately accumulated with my singing as a jazz vocalist in front of Northeastern University's jazz big band.

Performing

2022 - On

I continue to write and perform in a variety of settings, including jazz jams, my graduate study ensembles, and various other gigs. While I am not focusing my career on artistry at this time, performance and active musicianship remain integral to all that I do.

"Bella is a classic singer, like out of the 40s, 50s jazz age. She has a darker, sultry quality about her voice, and can hit notes in a way others can’t."
Timothy Skylar, Producer and Artist

"Bella's voice is driving, it has weight. She controls it, it doesn't control her- She is one of my favorite musicians to play with"
Ben Henderson, Bandmate
